BILLY KELLEHER WELCOMES SPORTS CAPITAL GRANTS 2001

Cork North Central Deputy Billy Kelleher today welcomed the Sports Capital Grant Allocations for 2001 allocated by the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation, Jim Mc Daid.

A total of £3,756,000 was given to Cork and Cork North Central did particularly well in the allocations. On the GAA front Mayfield Hurling and Football Club received £350,000 while the Glen Rovers Hurling Club received £180,000 and Sarsfields Hurling Club in Glanmire received £250,000.

Also to benefit were Wilton United Football Club to the tune of £35,000 and St. Stephens Pitch and Putt Club received £15,000, Old Christians Rugby Club £120,000.

The Deputy expressed his delight at the allocations and wished the recipients well with their projects.
