BILLY KELLEHER T.D. WELCOMES THE 2001 SPORTS CAPITAL GRANTS ALLOCATIONS


"One of the most rewarding parts of being a public representative is assisting groups and associations in getting funding for various projects. Sporting clubs in Glanmire are among the latest to benefit from Government funding".

"Under the Sports Capital Grants Scheme for 2001 four sporting groups have been awarded money under the scheme. Sarsfields Hurling Club received £250,000 for their development while St. Stephens Pitch and Putt Club were given £15,000. Also included were Old Christians Ruby Football Club who received £120,000 and £500 was given to Watergrasshill Community Association."

"A total of £3,756,000 was given to Cork and Cork North Central did particularly well. I am delighted with the allocations and I wish the various clubs all the best with their projects."
