Remember Older People This Christmas

"During the Festive Season it is important that we remember the older people in our areas and ensure that they are not left alone," said Fianna Fáil Deputy Billy Kelleher. "Christmas is a time of the year when everyone is extremely busy however, we should ensure that we take time out to call in on the older people in our area," said the Cork TD. "Neighbours are an extremely important lifeline for many elderly people and it only takes five minutes to drop in and check that they are ok," he added. "Christmas can be a very lonely time of year for the elderly, especially for those with no immediate family. I am calling on communities to be aware of those who may be on their own and make sure that they are included in the festivities," concluded Deputy Kelleher.
