FIANNA FÁILS BILLY KELLEHER CALLS FOR NEW HEALTH CENTRE IN GLANMIRE

Deputy Billy Kelleher voiced his concern after visiting the Health Centre in Riverstown and having viewed the premises first hand.  The Northside deputy has been making strenuous representations to the Southern Health Board and to the Minister for Health, Brian Cowen for the provision of a state of the art facility.

“It is imperative that a new Health Centre is provided for Glanmire.  It is a rapidly expanding area and to cater for extra health and medical services a new purpose built health centre is required.”

“The fact that the present centre is wholly inadequate puts hugh pressure on the dedicated staff who are currently providing services for the community in the centre.  The condition of the centre discourages the public from availing of the professional services provided by the staff.”

“It is now time that the Southern Health Board look urgently at acquiring a site and drawing up plans for a purpose built centre.  I will continue to personally pursue this matter with the Minister for Health for the provision of funding for a new centre.”
