Cork North Central Deputy welcomes

approval of new fire service appliance.

Fianna Fáils Billy Kelleher today welcomed the announcement by the Minister for the
Environment Noel Dempsey that he is to approve Cork Corporation’s proposal for the provision
of a new appliance for the fire service in Cork.

“I am delighted by today’s news, the Minister’s announcement is very welcome and it
will be very important in servicing the community.”

“ In recent years we have seen improvements in the service being provided to the people of Cork,
such as the new station in Ballyvolane, the announcement today is another step forward in the
improvement of the service offered by the dedicated fire officers.”
