PRESS RELEASE

Deputy Billy Kelleher today welcomed the announcement by the Minister for the Environment on the 1998 Allocations under the Urban and Village & Conservation Grant Schemes.  The Deputy was particularly delighted with the Conservation Grants, which were awarded to Cork City.

 

Included in the Conservation Grants were

£30,000 for the Renovation of St. Mary’s & St Ann’s,

£10,000 for St. Finbarr’s Cathedral,

£10,000 for the Cork Public Museum,

£20,00 for the Cork Civic Trust,

£50,00 for Waterworks Cork City.

The Minister also gave £920,000 to Urban and Village Renewal Grants.

 

 

 The County is to benefit by a provision of

£ 97,000 for Urban Improvement,

£185,000 for Village Renewal,

Conservation Grants for the county went to Crosshaven Community Development Association with and allocation of £15,000.
